More than £5,000 has been raised for cancer charities and children’s causes at the 2011 KM Charity Walk.
This year’s event attracted more than 500 walkers and also featured a fete with stalls and entertainment from local bands.
It was staged at Chilham, setting off from the recreation ground and there was a choice of a 10-mile or three-mile route.
Money raised from the walk will be divided between the Pilgrims Hospices, Heart of Kent Hospice, Wisdom Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and the KM Charity team’s children’s road safety, environmental, health and wellbeing initiatives.
A further £1,000 raised from the fete will be shared between Chilham Sports Centre and children’s road safety.
Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team said: “On behalf of all the charities that will benefit from the event I would like to thank all the walkers and their sponsors for their support."
The event was supported by Independent Music Productions, Chilham Mill Fisheries, Mid Kent Fisheries, Veolia Environmental Services, Ringway, Warburtons, krbs and Barclays.
Entertainment was provided by Springtide Cavalry, SkadeKat, Masterclass, Billy Wears Dresses.
